Daniel Smithson was born 1743 in Baltimore Co., MD. He was the son of Thomas Smithson and Mary Grafton. He married (1st) Unknown; (2nd) Margaret Anderson on 10 Dec 1782 in Baltimore Co., MD; (3rd) Susannah Taylor on 3 Jan 1785 in Harford Co., MD.. He had He had 9 children: from 1st wife: Elizabeth (1775-1846) m. Henry Dorsey; William (1779-1836) m. Margaret Hall Lee; from 3rd wife: Thomas Martin (1785-1859) m. Cassandra Poteet; John Taylor (1796-1857) m. Hannah Amos; Amelia (1787-1858) m. William Wright; Edward (b. 1788); Daniel A. (b. 1789) m. Hannah Wright; Luther Martin (1790-1854); Gabriel C. (1792-1864) m. Ann Garner.. He died 22 Feb 1798 in Harford Co., MD. His patriotic service included Civil Service as a Served on the Petit Jury in Harford Co., MD in 1783.
