Author: Michael John Blum

Born on June 2, 1761, Cumberland County, New Jersey. He enlisted in 1780 or 1781 in the 2nd New Jersey Regiment under Colonel Dayton, and was at the surrender of Lord Cornwallis at Yorktown. He was discharged in June 1783.

In 1821 he resided in Cincinnati, Ohio. He Died on January 2, 1824. Burial location unknown.

In 1818 he resided in Cumberland County, New Jersey at the age of 56 when he applied for a pension. In 1821 he resided in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Author: Dr. Michael Bernard Gunn

Born in 1756 Cumberland County, New Jersey. He served as a Pvt in the 3rd Battalion, Capt Samuel Reading's Company, Colonel Elias Dayton's 2nd New Jersey Regiment also served in the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Regiment commanded by Israel Sherye. He married ___ ; children: ? Abraham had his pension transferred from New Jersey to Hamilton County, Ohio. He died January 2, 1824 in Chillicothe, Ohio, but his grave has not been located. A memorial stone recognizing his service has been placed in the Springbank Cemetery in Union Township, Ross County, Ohio. Cemetery Notes: Springbank is an active cemetery on route 104 in Ross County. It is well cared for. Close to the Ross and Pickaway County line, just beyond the little community of Yellowbud.
