Evidence submitted to the DAR proves that Jacob Sink of Germany had three sons: Johannes "John," Philip, and Michael. Birth records of some of their children can be found in the Pilgrim Church records, which mention Jacob Sink witnessed their births, using language such as "my father," their "grandfather," etc.
The DAR has Patriot Joh. Jacob Zinck was born about 1725 in Germany and died about 1785 in Rowan County, North Carolina. They also give his wife's name as Derrodea. It is not known where they are buried. The Find-a-Grave memorial has family information (but no headstones) for Jacob and Derrodea Zinck.
The 1908 book, Historical Sketch of the Reformed Church, pages 172-176 mentions the original Bethany Reformed Lutheran Church was built on land purchased by Frederick Miller in August 1789. Derrodea Sink died about 1798, so it's possible that Jacob and Derrodea Zinck were original members of this new German-speaking congregation at Bethany Church.
The Old Lutheran (Pilgrim) Church citations below reflect records preserved concerning their three sons. This proves they all were related and must have attended Pilgrim Church before the new Bethany Church was built (after the land was purchased on August 1, 1789).

Send a biographical sketch of your patriot!
Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
