John Self was born 04 March 1759 in Westmoreland Co., Virginia, and he died in 1836 in Frederick Co., Virginia. John Self married Sarah Harris on 06 Sept 1779 in Richmond, Virginia. Sarah Harris was born 11 Dec 1761 in Richmond, Co., Virginia, and she died in 1836 at Warren Co., Virginia. John and Sarah had a daughter, Mary Self, who was born 12 Feb 1781 in St. Stephen’s Parish, Virginia. Mary Self died in Norwich, Ohio on 28 Jul 1874. John Self served as an Ensign (“2nd Lieutenant”) in Captain George Mengie’s Company of the Northumberland County, Virginia Militia, and he is listed as the Daughters of the American Revolution Ancestor #101702.
