Christian Seibert was born 30 November 1743 in Tulpehocken Township, Lancaster County, PA. He was the son of Johann Jakob Seibert and Susanna Schutz nee Klopp.
Christian’s father, Jakob was born 2 March 1716 in Wolfersweiler, Germany came to America on 25 October 1738, on the ship Davy. By trade, his father was a tailor and shoe clobber and did a lot of work for the Sister’s of the Ephrata Cloister.
Christian’s mother, Susanna was born 1 January 1716 in the West Camp at Schoharie Valley, New York Colony. Her father, Peter Klopp arrived in the colony of New York in 1710, was one of the First German Setters in the Tulpehocken Valley in early 1720 and one of the first Family members of the Ephrata Cloister.
Christian’s wife Catharina was born 30 January 1749 in Tulpehocken Township, Lancaster County, PA. She was the daughter of Leonard and Eva Barbara Holstein nee Graff.
Christian married Catharina Holtzstein (Holstein) 14 July 1765, and had 14 children, their names being: Eva Barbara, Francis, Catharine (Died at 3), John, Christian, Catharine, Eva Marie, Nicholas, Jacob, Mary Elizabeth, Margaret, Barbara Elizabeth, Matilda and William.
In 1766, Christian paid taxes on 70 acres, 2 Horses, 2 cattle and 2 sheep. His last name was spelled, “Seywerd”.
19 October 1777, Christian took the Oath of Allegiance, and was assign to Captian Wendel Weaver's Company, 2nd Battalion, Lancaster County Militia.
1779 he paid the Supply Tax in Lancaster County for 130 acres, 3 horses, 4 cattle and 4 sheep.
Muster Rolls of 3rd Class, Captain Caspar Stover Company, 2nd Battalion, Lancaster County Militia, 1 July 1781 Chrisn. Seibert furnished a substitute (John Fisher) to fill in and march for him till 29 July 1781
He was listed on the" B” Company Roster, Lancaster County Militia in July 1782. He was listed as Christian Seybert.
2 February 1780, Elected as Deacon, Listed as elder in 1793, then in 23 November 1805 he stepped down as Trustee at Trinity Tulpehocken Reformed.
1784 in Lancaster County, he is listed as Chris'n Seybert paying taxes for 239 acres, 4 horses, 4 cattle and 5 sheep.
Christian was a farmer all of his life in Lancaster County
He died 2 July 1813 in what is now Lebanon County, and is buried at Trinity Tulpehocked Reformed Church (Old Cemetery) row 7, grave 4. His wife, Catharina, died 7 September 1821 and is buried along side of him.
