Richard Sebree was born on 29 March 1752 in Orange County, Virginia.1
While a resident of Orange County, he enlisted as a private in Captain Belfill Cave’s Company, commanded by Colonel Barbour in the Virginia Regiment for two months. In 1779, he enlisted in the company of Richard C. Webb under the command of Frank Taylor in the Virginia Regiment for two months and was stationed at Albemarle’s Barracks. In 1780, he enlisted in the company of Benjamin Johnson under the command of Colonel Barbour in the Virginia Regiment for three months. Richard served a total of seven months in the Revolutionary War.1
He married Esther Watts (1752-1835) about 1772 in Virginia.2
They had the following children:
Reuben (1775-1848), who married Jane Watts2
John (about 1772-1825), who married Sarah Johnson3
Elizabeth (about 1785-1850), who married Gabriel Johnson3
Frances Ann (1793-1852), who married Samuel Gentry Thomason3
James/Boone (1781-1865), who married Elizabeth Trotter2
His pension was executed while a resident of Scott County, Kentucky, on 05 September 1832. He stated he had lived in Scott County for 40 years.1
He died on 05 September 1835, in Scott County, Kentucky. His burial location is unknown per Find-a-Grave Memorial ID 78577976.

Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
