He married Margaret Short on 6 Apr 1797 in Harford Co., MD.
He had 1 child: Otho Scott (1797-1864) who married 1st Louisa Mary Boarman (1799-1840) on 29 Oct 1823 in Bel Air, Harford Co., MD; m. 2nd Elizabeth Grason (1815-1862) on 29 Apr 1843 in Baltimore Co., MD.
He died 1828 in Harford Co., MD.
His patriotic service included Patriotic and Civil Service as a Signer of the Bush Declaration on March 22, 1775 in Harford Co., MD; War Committee, Harford County in 1775; Signer, Association of Freemen in 1775 in Bush River Upper Hundred, Harford County; Solicitor, 1775 in Bush River Lower Hundred, Harford County; Private, Capt. Bond's Co., No. 11, December 9, 1775; Captain of the 8th Battalion in 1778.

The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
