John Satterwhite was born in Brunswick County, Virginia in 1734 and he relocated to Newberry District, South Carolina before the Revolutionary War.

Satterwhite served as a member of the 1st Provincial Congress in South Carolina.

He died circa 1808 in Newberry District, South Carolina.
