Author: George Edward Livingston

STEPHEN SANDERS: Born c1750, New Jersey. Parents unknown. He may have been married ‘at least’ twice. About 1774 to Martha ……?? and later to Catherine …..?? Stephen was the father of at least 6 sons and probably 2 daughters.
Stephen Sanders served with the 1st Battalion, Washington County PA Militia, 1781 & 1782, in Captain John Miller’s Company. This Company was recruited at Fort Lindley near the Washington/Greene County line in Pennsylvania c1781. Stephen died 8 April 1832, age 82. He is buried in Upper Ten-mile Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Prosperity, Morris Twp., Washington County PA.
