Born in 1756, Jonas Sams served with the Virginia Militia in the Revolutionary War. His death place is unknown. He is buried at Ripley Cemetery, Ripley, Brown County, Ohio. However, his gravesite is unknown.

Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format.
