Lorentz aka Lawrence Ruch was born on 14 November 1744 in North Whitehall, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of George (Hans George) and Susanna Ruch.
During the American Revolution, Lawrence served as a Private 4th Class in the Company of Captain John Morritz under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel Balliet of the 2nd Battalion, Northampton County, Pennsylvania Militia
Lawrence was married on 5 November 1769 at Lehigh County, Pennsylvania to Charlotte Barbara Knaus. She was born on 2- June 1750 and died on 28 March 1810. They had the following known children:
The known children of Lorentz and Charlotte are listed below. There are doubtless other children that don’t appear in primary source records.
Elisabetha (1) was born on 27 June 1772 and died young.
Catherine was born on 30 October 1774 and married Henry Beary.
Marie Susanna was born on 11 March 1777 and married Salome Miller.
Peter was born on 28 February 1779.
Hannah was born on 12 October 1783 and married to George Frack.
Elisabeth Ruch (2) was born on 21 May 1786 and married Daniel Bleiler
Johan Henrich was born on 1 October 1791.
The Patriot died on 27 October 1825 in North Whitehall Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania.
