  4. Capt Amasa Soper's 4th Company, Colonel Marshall's I0th Regiment; return of men who were in camp on or before Aug. I 5, 1777, and who had not been absent subsequently except on furlough, etc
  5. same company and regiment; muster roll for January, 1779, dated West Point; enlisted May 10, 1777; enlistment, 3 years

Born on May 3, 1843 in Dartmouth, Massachusetts to parents John Rouse and Sarah Sampson. He served in the Massachusetts Line, Dartmouth (also given Freetown). Private, Major's Company, Colonel Thomas Marshall's 10th Regiment.; Continental Army pay accounts for service from May 10, 1777, to May 10, 1780; residence, Dartmouth (also given Freetown); credited to town of Dartmouth; also, Capt Amasa Soper's 4th  Company, Colonel Marshall's I0th Regiment; return of men who were in camp on or before Aug. I 5, 1777, and who bad not been absent subsequently except on furlough, etc.; also, same company and regiment; muster roll for January, 1779, dated West Point; enlisted May 10, 1777; enlistment, 3 years. He married Rebecca Barker (1751-_) on March 12, 1766 in Dartmouth, Massachusetts; children: Cynthia b Decenber 4, 1776;

Stephen b. 1774; Ruth b. 1780; Robert b. 1784 and Barker b. 1784. He died at 75 years af age on July 1, 1818 in Belpre, Washington County, OH and buried at unknown cemetery, Washington County, OH.
