Author: Michael J. Blum
Born in 1750 at Westfield, Essex County, New Jersey, where he was living when he enlisted. Beginning in 1776 he served several tours of duty under Colonels Martin, Barber, and Potter in the Classified militia. He was in New York City when the British landed on Long Island August 1776, but was compelled to retreat to Bergen and Union counties. He was later in pursuit at Amboy in 1778. He was in the battles of Connecticut Farms, June 6, 1780 and Springfield, June 23, 1780. Pensioned as Private in New Jersey Militia, Continental Line.
Died 1834 or 1838, in Cincinnati, OH. Buried at Laurel Cemetery, 5915 Roe Street in Madisonville, Cincinnati, OH (S. A. R.). Ref: S. A. R. and National No. S0122, Vol 81, D. A. R. Lin.

His wife was Mary Clark Ross. In 1831 he moved to Hamilton County, Ohio. He applied for a pension August 24, 1832, while living in Columbia Township, and received a pension for his service as a Private. Pensioned as Private in New Jersey Militia, Continental Line.
