DANIEL ROSS, son of JOHN and SARAH ROSS, was born November 09, 1740 in Cromarty, Ross & Cromarty, Scotland, and died 1822 in Cooper County, Missouri. He married ELIZABETH "BETTY" GARTH 1761 in Louisa County, (now Albermarle) Virginia, daughter of JOHN GARTH. She was born 1747 in Trinity, Louisa County, Virginia, and died 1807 in New Castle, Henry County, Virginia.
Note: Daniel Ross birth place, Cromarty is a town in Highland, Scotland. It is in the historic county of Ross and Cromarty.

The thirteen children of DANIEL ROSS and ELIZABETH GARTH are:
01. JOHN ROSS, was born about 1761 in Louisa County, Virginia, and died before November 1822.
02. WILLIAM ROSS was born about 1763 in Louisa County, Virginia.
03. SARAH "SALLY" ROSS was born about 1764 in Louisa County, Virginia, and died September 18, 1854 in Franklin County, Virginia. She married JAMES COX on January 22, 1799 in Franklin County, Virginia. He was born on May 16, 1745 in Antrim Parish, Peytonsburg, Halifax County, Virginia and died about 1833 in Patrick County, Virginia.
04. ELIZABETH "BETSY" ROSS was born 1767 in Franklin County, Virginia, and died before November 16, 1822 in Kentucky. She married THOMAS WHITE RUBLE, the son of CAPTAIN OWEN RUBLE and ELEANOR WHITE, on October 17, 1786 in Franklin County, Virginia. He was born in Virginia and died in Kentucky.
05. NATHANIEL ROSS was born about 1768 in Virginia. He married MILDRED "MILLY" PENN on December 20, 1794 in Patrick County, Virginia. She was born about 1774 in Amherst County, Virginia.
06. DAVID ROSS was born September 10, 1771 in Amherst County, Virginia, and died August 25, 1849 in Patrick County, Virginia. He married SARAH ANDERSON October 21, 1802 in Franklin County, Virginia, daughter of JOHN ANDERSON and REBECCA MAXWELL. She was born November 25, 1782 in Albemarle County, Virginia, and died June 15, 1860 in Albemarle County, Virginia. DAVID ROSS is buried at David Ross Cemetery, Patrick County, Virginia. SARAH ANDERSON is buried at Pleasant Hill Methodist Church Cemetery, Grayson County, Virginia.
07. RACHEL ROSS was born about 1773 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, and died May 22, 1852 in Cumberland County, Kentucky. She married a blacksmith, JEREMIAH TURNER on April 21, 1792 in Franklin County, Virginia, the son of SHADRACK TURNER and ANN HILL. He was born 1773 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, and died 1827 in Mud Camp, Cumberland County, Kentucky. RACHEL ROSS and JEREMIAH TURNER are buried at Black Hollow, Mud Camp, Cumberland County, Kentucky.
08. SUSANNAH ROSS was born about 1774, Amherst County, Virginia and died before 1847 in Patrick County, Virginia. She married ABEL PEDIGO, the son of EDWARD "NED" PEDIGO/PEREGOY and HANNAH ELKINS, on September 17, 1792 in Rocky Mount, Franklin County, Virginia. He was born in 1770 at Pittsylvania County, Virginia and died December 01, 1847 in Patrick County, Virginia.
09. MARY POLLY ROSS was born October 27, 1775 in Amherst County, Virginia and died November 11, 1839 in White County, Tennessee. She married JAMES RANDALS, the son of JOHN RANDALS and WINNIFRED STOCKTON on May 05, 1795 in Franklin County, Virginia. MARY POLLY ROSS RANDALS is buried at Randals Cemetery, White County, Tennessee.
10. DANIEL JUNIOR ROSS was born June 04, 1777 in Henry County, (now Franklin Co.), Virginia, and died August 10, 1861 in old Harbour Ross home, Patrick County, Virginia. He married (1) NANCY INGRAM July 24, 1798, daughter of JAMES INGRAM and MARTHA HALL. She was born about 1780 in Virginia, and died April 26, 1822 in Patrick County, Virginia. He married (2) JOYCE HARBOUR March 23, 1826, daughter of DAVID HARBOUR and ESTER CRONK. She died December 08, 1888 in Patrick County, Virginia. DANIEL JUNIOR ROSS and NANCY INGRAM are buried at Daniel Ross Jr. Cemetery, Patrick County, Virginia.
11. LEWIS ROSS was born about 1779 in Virginia and died about 1847 in Morgan County, Missouri. He married HANNAH JAMES on July 26, 1804 in Patrick County, Virginia. She was born about 1789 in Virginia.
12. THEODOCIA ROSS was born on September 20, 1783 in Henry County, (now Franklin), Virginia and died February 10, 1852, in Fentress County, Tennessee. She married BENJAMIN RANDALS on April 15, 1803 in Franklin County, Virginia. He died in 1820 at Cooper County, Missouri. THEODOCIA ROSS RANDALS is buried at Ben Stockton Cemetery
13. CHURCHILL B. ROSS was born about 1786 in Henry County, (now Franklin), Virginia and died October 18, 1823 in Cooper County, Missouri. He married ELIZABETH POSTON on May 26, 1813 in Henry County, (now Franklin), Virginia.
