John R. Robinson b. 5/6/1756        d. 12/18/1832                  BALDWIN COUNTY, GEORGIA

 

After the Battle of Trenton, he enlisted in the Amelia County Virginia Troops for three years under recruiting officer William Porter.  He served in Captain William Taylor's Company of the 2nd Virginia Regiment and was taken prisoner, but later escaped.  His widow later received a pension for his services.

 

Buried: Old Robinson family burial ground in southeast Baldwin County in remote wooded area about .7 mile on north side of Highway 24 (Sandersville Highway) near Town Creek, partially accessible through private driveway on left about 100 yards south of intersection of Stembridge Road.
