Author: Michael B. Gunn
Born in June 1755. He served as a Private in the Pennsylvania Militia and the Pennsylvania Line, was under Captain Manus Yost’s Company of the 1st Regiment of Foot Pennsylvania Line and with Bucks County, Pennsylvania Militia. He married Mary Ann__(1760-1835); children: Ann, John, Jacob and Samuel. His last name is spelled Richey, Ritchy and Richie. He left Bucks County after the War and lived in Washington County, PA, then moved to Archer Township, Harrison County in the northeast quarter of Section 9, Township 11, and Range 5 which is now the Harrison County State Park. He was one of the incorporators of the Ridge Presbyterian Church and when he died on April 25, 1836 was buried in the Cemetery at this church; Ridgeview Cemetery in Scio, Archer Township, Harrison County, OH 43986. Cemetery notes and/or description: The cemetery is located on west side of Hanover Ridge Road (County Road 17) at its intersection with Keyser Road (Township Road 239). The cemetery was established in 1818 and is 2.02 acres in size. The cemetery is maintained by the Archer Township Trustees.
