RICE, FREDERICK Wm., .  Born on September 29, 1753 Northhampton Co., Pennsylvania. He served as a Pvt, Volunteered under Capt John Berry ; marched to Morristown, New Jersey, joined under Col Potter ; several skirmishes on Staten Island and was at Valley Forge. He Married Anna Catherine Lauffer (1764-1823) in 1783; children: 13 including Christina b.1778, Barnhart b. 1781, Mary b. 1783, Christian b. 1787, Susannah b. 1794 & Henry b. 1804. He Died on January 23, 1848 and Buried at Wooster Cemetery, Timkwn Road, Wooster, Wayne Co., OH 44691. MI: Frederick Rice. A soldier of the Revolution. Died Jan. 23, 1848, aged 94 yrs. 3 mos. 23 da." Applied for pens 1834 f r Wayne Co, OH. Ref : Mrs. J. C. Talbot, 317 N. Bever St., Wooster, OH, and Natl No. 99019, Vol 100, D. A. R. Lin.
