Born on February 17, 1735, Frederick Co., Virginia to Parent: Nicholas Reasoner (1697-1771), wife's name not known. Served as a Ranger with the Washington County Pennsylvania Militia on the frontier and was one of Patrick Henry's captains. His wife was Mary Molly Speer born on the South Shenandoah River in VA who he married at Patterson Creek in 1763 in then Hampshire County, VA which is now a part of WV. They temporarily moved to Rostraver Twp, Westmoreland Co PA where her parents had settled on the Monongahela River. Peter appeared on the tax list before moving west with his family. He Married Mary Molly Speer (1745-1805) in 1763; Children: Nicholas, Benjamin, John, Sarah, Jacob, Solomon, Henry, Regina. Susan & Mary. On May 16, 1791, given 136 acres of land as depreciation claim. He Died in 1807 in Guernsey Co., and buried in Reasoner Burying Grounds, 1163 Fitzgerald Lane, New Concord, Guernsey Co., OH 43762. Burial ground given by John Reasoner living near Cemetery. Sandstone marker, partly crumbled, inscription obliterated. Fur infor Anna Asbury Stone Chap. 56th-77th Annual Reports DAR. Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
