Peter Ragsdale was born about 1736 in Prince George County Virginia and he died on September 16, 1799 in Greenville County, South Carolina. He married Sarah Charlton before 1765 in Goochland Virginia.
Before 1754 Peter moved to Lunenburg County, Virginia which became Mecklenburg County in 1764 and he lived on Bluestone Creek. Peter Ragsdale appears in the 1790 census in Greenville County, South Carolina.
Peter Ragsdale served as a Sgt. In the 6th Regiment of Virginia under Capt. Samuel Hopkins and Col. James Hendricks.
