From Hillsboro go west of Charles town Pike (Hwy 9) 0.3 miles. at the Traffic Circle take the 2nd exit onto State Rte 719/Stony Point Rd, go 1.3 miles. Stony Point becomes Cider Mill Rd. Go 0.5 miles to a left on St Rt 716 Edgegrove Rd, go 0.4 miles to a right on Rt 714 Shannondale road. Cemetery is 100 yards on Left.

Thomas Purcell/Pursel was baptized at Readington, New Jersey, on 9 April 1720, the son of John Purcell/Pursel, and Henab Zyn Brou (unclear first and last name).1
He married Mary Van Hook in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, in about 1745.2
A veterans' headstone was installed at Potts Graveyard in about 1956 for service in the Revolutionary War.3 Thomas served in the 13th Virginia Regiment and was found on muster rolls in August 1777, last in November 1777.[4] After about 1770, he moved from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and located in Loudoun County near the town of Hillsboro. Editors Note: this service is now credited to his son Thomas by the DAR.
