Samuel Poole, my 5th Great Grandfather,  father of Alathea Poole, wife of James Hersey. He was born 27 August 1736 in Abington Mass. He served as a private in the French & Indian Wars and as a Lieutenant in the Revolution in Capt. Abil Pierce’s Company, Colonel Nicholas Dike’s regiment for five years, he made Lieutenant August 30 1776. He later became the Deacon in the Congregational Church. He married Ruth Fullerton of the Mayflower Fullerton/Sampson family.
