Nathaniel Paxton (ACN8939) was born in 1746 in Chanceford Township, York now Adams County, Pennsylvania. A son of Nathaniel and Hannah Paxton. In 1768 he married Jane Gibson. Nathaniel Paxton served as a Private in the 8th Battalion of the Cumberland County Pennsylvania militia under the command of Captain James Young. His wife Jane Gibson Paxton died about 1802 and is buried in the old Sanders graveyard along Marsh Creek. About 1812, Nathaniel followed some of his children and went West to Washington County, Pennsylvania. Nathaniel Paxton died on December 19, 1816 and is buried in the Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery located in Dunningsville, Washington County, Pennsylvania. He is buried next to a grandson also named Nathaniel Paxton that died on September 11, 1816.
