Born on April 8, 1755 in Frederick Co., VA to Frederick (1717-1798) and Barbara Elizabeth Edwards (1722-1780) Parrett, brother to Frederick and Joseph Parrett, Samuel Parrott served in the Revolutionary War as a Private in the VA Militia of Rockingham Co. 1 Jan 1781 for 3 months and re-inlisted Sep-Dec 1781 and served at the Battle of Yorktown. He married (1) Eve Custard (1756-1821), and (2) Eleanor Davidson Dailey (1722-1780); children: Margaret, Elizabeth, Rosannah, George b. 1783, Eve, and Philip b. 1794. He died at 88 years of age on 03 Aug 1843 and is buried at Custard Cemetery, Rushville, Fairfield Co., OH. His grave has a broken tombstone with an inscription that reads, "Departed this life August 3, 1843 Aged 88 years 3 months 23 days."

Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
