Excerpt from Widow’s Pension (Mrs. Mary Carter Harman) the widow of David PAGAN, her second husband under whom she claims a pension for his services as a regular soldier having enlisted as such for the (now) County of Campbell under Capt. Jno. Rogers of the regular Army in the Revolutionary War and from there was marched to the Illinois County where he served as a regular soldier through out the war - he being a married man at the time having married the daughter of Wm. FERRILL of Campbell - from whose house he/the said David PAGAN marched when he went in said service - and that he took his wife with him to Illinois - where she died, and that he returned to Franklin after the close of the war where he married declarant, Mary.
