Author: Dr. Michael Bernard Gunn

Born February 21, 1750, Orange Co., NY, a son of father Elias Oldfield (_-1803). He enlisted in 1777, serving under Capts William Clark, Rosecrans, DeWitt and Richard Goldsmith, Col Geo Clinton's Regt NY Troops. He married Elizabeth (Betsy) Taylor (br 1757); children: Richard, Samuel, Jonathan & Reuben. In 1833, he applied for pension and was allowed. He died November 13, 1837, and was buried on December 5, 1837 at Bellville Cemetery, Church Street, Bellville, Richland Co., OH 44813. Revolutionary War Graves Register. Clovis H. Brakebill, compiler. 672pp. SAR. 1993. Also SAR Revolutionary War Graves Register CD. Progeny Publishing Co: Buffalo, NY, 1998.  Has a tombstone and Rev War marker.
