Peter was the son of Peter Knight and Rachel Abbot who married 19 December 1756 in Stafford County, VA, Overwharton Parish Records, 1723-1758. He was born 02 Nov 1758 in Stafford Co, VA and died after 1840. His burial is unknown. He married Elizabeth Kendall (born 27 February 1758 Stafford County, VA- died after 1840). They had 4 Children - Christopher, Peter, Jr., Nancy Knight, Molly Barnes. Peter Knight appeared on 25 August 1832 before the justices of Harrison County, VA, age 75. He testified that he had served more than six months as a private under CAPT Ballard, CAPT Phillips, MAJ Southall, and General Stevens in the Virginia Militia. He remained in Stafford County after the war until moving to Harrison County. His service was sworn to by John Latham and Christopher Knight. His pension #S 5660, Virginia pension #1909 was granted 13 November 1832 in Harrison County, VA and awarded $20 per year from March 4, 1831.
