The following biography of Peter Moulton was published anonymously at findagrave.com.  I am not the author.
 
 
Lieut. Peter Moulton was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. His name appears on a list of Massachusetts Militia Officers appointed by the Governor's Council, May 10, 1776, as a 2nd Lieut. in Capt. Josiah Shaw's 4th (also given 5th Pearsontown) Company, 3rd Cumberland Regiment. His name also appears with the rank of Corporal on a billeting roll of Capt. Wentworth Stuart's Company, Col. Phinney's Regiment, from the date of his enlistment, May 16, 1775, to the date of marching to headquarters, July 12, 1775.
