Author: John Robinson Hundley III

John Mitchell was born about 1729 in Bristol, MA.  He married Sarah Mahurin/Mehuren in Bridgewater, Bristol County, MA 28 Nov 1751.  He is listed as one of the freeholders in Hanover Township in Morris County, New Jersey on 31 Aug 1752.  He served as a Private in Capt. Isaac Halsey’s Morris County, NJ Militia, Parsippany 1776.  He was the father-in-law of Patriot Alexander Kirkpatrick.  He died 18 Nov 1799 in Morristown, NJ and is buried in the First Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Morristown, NJ.
