Author: Sheridan Morris Mallott

Obediah Roy Melott Senior was born circa 1755 in France. He married Mary Wink on 25 September 1779 in Bedford (Now Fulton) County, Pennsylvania. Their marriage was blessed with nine children. He then married Mary P. Daniels and their marriage was blessed with nine children.  Melott served as a Belcher served as a Private and Ranger in Captain Warford’s Company, Bedford County Militia in 1782. Melott passed on 28 March 1829 at Belfast Township, Bedford County, Pennsylvania and is buried at Sideling Hill Primitive Baptist Cemetery in Fulton County, Pennsylvania.
