Author: Michael B. Gunn
Born on February 22, 1753 in County Down, Ireland to parents Abraham & Mary McWilliams. He served as a Private in the Pennsylvania Militia in Captain Robert Miller’s Company, 6th Battalion Lancaster County Militia commanded by Colonel James Taylor. He Married Jane Wilson (1760-1853) in 1781; children: Abraham, Thomas, John, Sarah, James, Samuel and Alexander. He built a mill in Union Township, Belmont County, OH. He died on April 25, 1825 and buried at Taggarts Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Lafferty, Union Twp., Belmont Co., OH. Cemetery notes and/or description: A small cemetery, a little more than one and a third acres, on a hillside surrounded by strip mined land. J.A.
