Holland Maynard was born on 4 August 1745 in Bolton, Worcester County, Massachusetts.1

He married Mary Moore on 16 May 1771 in Worcester, Worcester County,  Massachusetts.2 Their known children were:3

  • Taylor was born on 21 November 1773 and married Betty Babcock.
  • Abial was born on 27 October 1775.
  • Holland was born on 31 August 1777 and married Elisabeth Brown.
  • Catherine “Cate” was born on 4 June 1779 and married Daniel Loring.
  • Mary “Polly” was born on 10 April 1782.
  • Sarbra was born on 5 December 1784.
  • Azor was born on 9 September 1786 and married Mary Richardson.
  • James was born on 14 November 1788 and married Sophia Fosgate.
  • Lucinda was born on 3 November 1794 and died young.

In the early days of the Revolutionary War, Holland served in 1775 as a Private in the Minutemen Company of Captain Samuel Wood, under General Ward. The company marched to the alarm of 19 April 1775 for service of 15 days.4

The Patriot died on 23 January 1819 in Northborough, Worcester County, Massachusetts. His wife died on 23 August 1816.5
