Born: about 1745 in Bertie County, North Carolina
Died: about 1811

In 1775, Josiah Redditt was appointed by the Bertie County, North Carolina Court as a "searcher" locating loyalists within Bertie County and warning them to leave the County. In 1777, the Court appointed Josiah as a Constable. At the May Court, 1779, Josiah Reddit was appointed to take inventory. The August Court, 1780, appointed Josiah to a grand jury. The August Court, 1781, appointed Josiah as an Assessor and Overseer of the Road.
