Pvt. AARON LEGG was born 07 Nov 1731 in Mendon, Worcester County, MA, and died 07 Sep 1801 in Uxbridge, Worcester County, MA. He is buried in Section 1-S, Row 12, Prospect Hill Cemetery, Uxbridge, Worchester County, MA. He married (1st) EXPERIENCE FISH (born 22 Sep 1730 in Redding, Middlesex County, MA, and died 16 Jan 1772 in Mendon, Worcester County, MA, daughter of John Fish and Mary Lewis) on 07 Nov 1751 in Mendon, Worcester County, MA. He married (2nd) JERUSHA FLETCHER (b. abt. 1741 in Concord, Middlesex County, MA, and died bef 17 Dec 1786 in Mendon, Worcester County, MA) on 16 Jan 1772 in Mendon, Worcester County, MA. He married (3rd) HANNAH BACON (b. 19 Feb 1740 in Woodstock Township, Windham, CT, and died 15 Feb 1815) on 17 Dec 1786 in Mendon, Worcester County, MA.
Aaron had 5 sons by his first wife, Experience: MOSES LEGG (1752-1815); REUBEN LEGG (1754-1832); DAVID LEGG (1756-1844); JOEL LEGG (1758-1845); and NATHAN LEGG (1760-1828). All five sons were patriots and had military service during the Revolutionary War. Aaron had one daughter, LYDIA LEGG (born 1763), by his second wife, Jerusha.
According to the "Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors in the War of the Revolution" (Volume 9, page 654), Aaron Legg of Mendon, served as a Private in Capt. John Albee's, 1st Mendon Company, and marched on the alarm of April 19, 1775, to Roxbury, with 6 days service. His twin brother, Stephen Legg (1731-1786), served in the same Company with him.
Aaron Legg's Will was written on 19 Jun 1799, and was approved on 24 Nov 1801. David Legg was made Administrator, and it was recorded in Worcester County, MA Records (Vol. 30, p. 421).
