Valentine Klase was 15 April 1759 in Germantown PA. He was son of Johannes Klase who arrived as an immigrant to Philadelphia PA on 22 Nov 1752 from Rotterdam on the Captain Reuben Honor’s Ship Phoenix.
During the Revolutionary War he enlisted at age 18 years in the Northampton County Militia commanded by LtCol Henry Lowell, initially in 1777 with the Captain Reeser’s 4th Company, 5th Battalion. Later he re-enlisted in 1780 in the 4th Company but now under Captain Jacob Balliet.
After the war in 1785 he married Mary Eva Schmidt (1766-1838) in Northampton County. They had one son Abraham born in 1792 in Northampton County.
He died on 28 April 1812 in Northampton and is buried in the Dryland Union Church Cemetery, Lower Nazareth Township, Northampton County, PA.
Valentine Klase was approved by the SAR 10 Feb 2012 as the patriot ancestor for Timothy Primerano.
