Henry Kemmerer was born on 1 April 1740 in Salisbury, Pennsylvania, the son of Frederick and Rosina Kemmerer.
He married Anna Mary Rischell, who was born on 25 December 1738 and died on 11 March 1820. They were parents of the following known children:
Jacob was born on 27 October 1760 and married Anna Louisa Schankweiler.
Frederick was born in 1762.
John was born on 24 November 1765 and married Magdalena Leibensperger
John Goerge was born on 23 October 1769 and married Maria Susanna Steininger
Catherine was born in 1771.
Johann was born and died in 1774.
George Adam was born on 8 June 1777 and married Susanna Troxell.
John Martin was born on15 November 1780 and married Maria Dorothea Watle.
Anna Maria was born in 1784.
Anna Rosina was born in 1788.
Henry was a farmer and carpenter who remained on his father's land (Frederick Kemmerer) until 1770 when he bought a 150-acre farm near the Western Salisbury Church in Salisbury Township along the Little Lehigh. The land is now in the possession of Robert Rathburn.
During the Revolutionary War, Henry was a Sergeant in the Seventh Class of the Seventh Company, Fourth Battalion, Northampton County Militia, on 29 April 1782. He was also an Ensign in Captain Martin Ritter's 7th Company, 2nd Battalion, Northampton County Militia, on 28 October 1782.
The Patriot died on 10 October 1801 at age 61.

Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
