Directions to Cemetery / Gravesite:

Peugh Cemetery is in Monroe Twp. From the Courthouse in Salem, take State Road 135 North, to the intersection of Gross Road which will be on your right. Go no more than 2/10 of a mile on your right is a gravel road going down to a lake John Hay Road. When I was there, a red sign that read "Seldom See Lake," go all the way down to the gate and there is a driveway to the cemetery on your right

Archibald Johnson was a son of Henry Johnson and wife, Catherine Knox.  He was born in a settlement at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains along the Yadkin River in Rowan County, NC.  He married Mary Idol b 1764 d 1845.  Mary's name also spelled Eytel.  See Will Book 1821-1830, pgs 19-22, Salem, Washington County, Indiana.

Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal.
