MILITARY: Joined War of Independence Jan 21, 1776 and served under Capt Bronson in Benedict Arnold’s army. He later served with Ethan Allen’s Green Mountain Boys.

MARRIAGE: 1804 Census lists his wife as Hester l.
MARRIAGE: Virgil Huntley lists Bethia Duran as wife of Benjamin Huntley Sr.
In fact his 2nd wife was named Bethia Esther Duran so she is the SAME lady mentioned in BOTH census reports – one mentioned her first name and one mentioned her middle name !!
His first wife was named Lydia Beckwith but they had no children together.
Benjamin Huntley was born on March 3, 1741, in Lyme, New London, Connecticut. He married Bethia Esther Duran in 1763 in Manchester, Vermont. He died in 1806 in Gananoque, Ontario,Canada at the age of 65.
He was one of the 6th great grandfathers of Kenneth D Roberts

The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
