Born on March 9, 1754 in Berks County, Pennsylvania to parents Jacob (1732-1802) and Maria Hegin (1735-1803) Huyett. He served as a Private in Captain Whitsel’s Company, North Carolina Militia enlisting in 1780 at Guilford County, NC. He Married Elizabeth Lutz (1763-1846); Children: Fannie, Elizabeth b. 1791, Catherine b. 1792, Sarah, Mary, Philip Jr., Henry b. 1794, Michael b. 1799, George, Simon b. 1802. He moved to N. C. from PA and finally to Montgomery County, OH. He Built a flour mill (the first on the Miami River) in the north part of Miamisburg, in 1812. Had a contract for 500 barrels of flour for the army in 1812. He Died on June 14, 1846 at 92 years of age in Miamisburg, OH and Buried at Hill Grove Cemetery, Lot 281, 1002 E. Central Avenue, Miamisburg, OH. 12th-19th Annual Reports DAR. Senate documents (United States Congress, Senate). Government Printing Office: Washington, DC. Has an original tombstone.

Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
