WILLIAM HUDSON, Virginia
1745 Virginia — after 23 January 1821, Dickson County, Tennessee. Hudson served as a Private in the 10th Virginia Regiment, Continental Line, under Colonel Edward Stevens and was enlisted for three years, November 1776 – 7 December 1779. His estate was administered in Dickson County, 3 January 1831. He is buried in Turnbull Church Cemetery, Dickson County.

He married (1) Elizabeth Jean Baker, 1764 – before 1787, and (2) Taffeness (Tappy) Moore 1769 - 1832, on 2 March 1787. Both marriages were in Mecklenburg, Virginia, which was his residence during the Revolution. Their children were Christopher, died young; Baker married Jane Fletcher, Louisa County, Virginia; Frances Bessie, died young; Carey died age 10; Elizabeth, 1788, - ?, married (1) ? Overton, (2) ? Marsh; William, 1790 — ?, married Comfort Smith; Taffeness married James Eaton; Mary Farrar, 1784 — ?, married Jesse Russell; Nancy, 1796 — ?, married ? Hogan; Carey, 1798 — ?, married John Holloway; Rebecca, 1802 — ?, married Samuel Sparks; Thomas C., 1799 — ?, married Jemima Tatum; Cuthbert, 1802 — ?; Judith Jefferson, 10 March 1804 — ?, married Thomas Holloway. William Hudson was born near Halifax, Virginia, son of Christopher and Cary (Byrd) Hudson.
