- Private in David Stephenson's company, 8th Regt commanded by Colonel Adam Bowman. Enlisted February 21, 1778, served 3 years transferred to Capt Coghan's Company 4th, 8th, 12th Virginia Regiment commanded by Colonel James Wood in 1778
