  • The Christ Church graveyard in Cambridge only has a monument to his memory. J. Winfield Henry, one of his grandsons, states in Letters and Papers of Gov. John Henry of Maryland, that "he was buried at 'Weston', his home on Nanticoke River below unmarked. No tomb was erected over the remains...and at present it is impossible to locate his grave." (Oct. 12, 1897). Monument erected by his descendants

John Henry was born Nov 1750 in Nanticoke River, Dorchester Co., MD. He was the son of John Henry and Dorothy Rider. He married Margaret Campbell. He died 1798 in "Weston", Dorchester Co., MD. His service was as a . He was originally buried at "Weston" but later moved along with his wife Margaret to Christ P. E. Church. His monument bears this inscription: "Hon. John Henry, Lawyer, Statesmen, Governor. Continental Congress, 1777-1778, United States Senator, 1789-1797, Governor of Maryland, 1797-1798. Honored fo his wisdom and political integrty."
