William Henderson was born at Augusta County, Virginia, formed 1738 from Orange County, and organized in 1745.  Following the Revolutionary War, he re-settled at the Broad River Colony, Wilkes County, Georgia, formed in 1784 from a Cherokee cession and a Creek cession of June 1773.  Elbert County was formed in December 1790 from Wilkes County, Georgia.  William Henderson's first patent of land and original farm tract is unknown at present.
