Georg Heffner (aka: George Heffner), was born June 10, 1758 near the village of Virginville, Richmond Twp., Berks County, PA. He was the son of Heinrich & Maria Eva (Kelchner) Haeffner. Georg Heffner was married January 18, 1779 to Maria Magdalena Hummell (1759-1848), the daughter of Johannes Jacob & Julianna (Braun) Hummell. Georg and Maria Magdalena Heffner were the parents of six children: Hanna, Johan Jacob, George, Esther, Magdalena and Elizabeth, all born in the Virginville area of Berks County, PA.
` Georg Heffner was a farmer his entire life in the area of Virginville, Richmond Twp., Berks County, PA, he died there at his homestead on August 29, 1818. He and his wife are buried at the Moselem Church Cemetery, Richmond Twp., Berks County, PA.
` During the Revolutionary War, Georg Heffner served as a private in two Berks County, Pennsylvania Militia Companies. They were - Captain Henry Christ’s Company of the Rifle Regiment commanded by Colonel Samuel Miles, Esq. on July 1, 1776 and Captain Ladick’s Company. Georg Heffner also did patriotic service by paying the Supply Tax in Richmond Twp., Berks County, PA in 1780 and 1781.
