Isaac Heaton was born in April 1753 in Morris County, New Jersey, the child of Jabesh and Abigail Heaton. Isaac Heaton served in the military in 1776 as a Sgt, in Captain Thompson's Co, Philadelphia Battalion of the Flying Camp of Rangers on the Frontier, under Col. Robert Lewis, when he was 23 years old. He married Susannah Bell in 1787 in Greene County, Pennsylvania. They had seven children during their marriage: John in 1788, Micajah in 1789, Jabez in 1791, Isaac in 1793, Jacob in 1794, Aaron in 1798, and Ruth in 1809. His wife Susannah died on June 7, 1832 in Green County, Pennsylvania. After his wife died, Isaac moved to Seneca County, Ohio with his son Aaron, joining his son Micajah and his family. He died on March 8, 1838, in Melmore, Seneca County, Ohio, having lived a long life of 84 years, and was buried at Brundage Cemetery in Seneca County, Ohio.

Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
