Born May 1, 1753 at Augusta County, Virginia.  He was a volunteer soldier for Virginia.  He overwintered at Valley Forge with Washington.  He married Catherine Dove (1759-1842) in 1777; children: Catherine b. 1784, Benjamin, and Jacob b. 1792.  He died October 21, 1831 and was buried at McKendree Chapel Cemetery, Miami County, Ohio.  GM by Miami Chap with bronze marker, 1921.   References:  Roster of Revolutionary War soldiers buried in Ohio.  Wilbur R.
