Thomas Hamblin Jr. was born in 1756 in Lunenburg Co., VA to Thomas and Phebe Hamblin. He married Elizabeth Seat and they had 9 children, then he married Nancy Jane Burton on 10 Nov 1806 in Mecklenburg, Virginia and they had no children.
He was residing in Mecklenburg County, VA when he gave 375 cwt beef, 33 cwt bacon on 14 May 1782 for Continental use during the Revolution.
In the 1810 census in Lunenburg, Lunenburg, Virginia he owned 21 slaves.
In his Will dated 01 Jan 1811 in Mecklenburg Co., VA, he gave his second wife, Jane, "two Negroes, namely Ninas and Amey". Another interesting condition was Article 8 which states "that my old negro woman, Beck, shall be at her liberty to choose her master among my Legatees and that after she is past Labour, so as to maintain herself, she shall have ten dollars a year out of my estate as long as she lives".
He died on18 Mar 1811 in Clarksville,Mecklenburg, Virginia.
