Author: Dr. Michael Bernard Gunn

Robert Hughey was born in 1750. He served as a Private with Pennsylvania in the Revolutionary War. He married Agnes Elliott. He died in 1832 in Dayton, Ohio, and his place of burial is not known. His name is on a bronze DAR plaque containing 30 Revolutionary War Patriots in Montgomery County, Ohio, in Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum, at 118 Woodland Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45409. Cemetery notes and/or description: Woodland Cemetery is one of the nation's five oldest rural/garden cemeteries and a unique cultural, botanical and educational resource in the heart of Dayton, Ohio. Historic Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum was founded in 1841, when John Van Cleve purchased 40 acres of land one mile south of downtown Dayton, Ohio. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format.
