Ferdinand Gulick was born on 15 November 1756, in Sussex County, New Jersey, the son of John and Magdalena Leanor (Quick) Gulick.
Ferdinand married Hannah Lee in 1780 and had the following known children:
John was born in 1777 and married Permelia Milley Meekins.
Joseph was born on 17 September 1780 and married Polly Stoker.
Anna was born in 1781
Jessie was born in 1782
Amos was born on 13 December 1793.
Elisha was born on 29 June 1784 and married Elizabeth Shaffer.
Mary (Polly) was born in 1786.
Rhoda was born in 1789 and married John Herbert Wesley Cool
William was born on 18 June 1794 and married Ivy Blue.
Daniel was born in 1796.
Stephen was born on 4 July 1801 and married Nancy Gilliland.
Elizabeth was born on 22 January 1808 and married Frederick Ritchart.
Ferdinand enlisted in 1775 as a private for several one-month tours totaling six months. He served in Captains John Shenard, Christopher Johnson, Jacob Carhart, Growingdyck, Daniel Brink, Henry Gulick’s Companies, Colonels Chambers, and Joseph Beavers’s Regiments Sussex County, New Jersey. He was at the skirmish at Millstone Creek and the battle of Monmouth. He then moved to Loudoun County, Virginia, and served as a private in Captain John Henry’s Company for four months.
Ferdinand moved to Pickaway County near Darbyville in the spring of 1827. His Will was filed on 6 October 1831.
His Last Will and Testament states that his 445-acre tract of land in Hampshire County, Virginia, is to be sold, and the money is divided equally between his children. There is no record of him owning land in Pickaway County.
The Patriot died on 4 June 1836 and was buried in Coleman Hill Cemetery.

Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal.
