Additional Information:

Thomas Gresham tried to settle in the Mississippi Territory, Chickasw lands Three Times. The third time Thomas Gresham settled on 169 acres on what is now Blue Water Creek, in Lauderdale County. At the time Thomas Gresham passed in 1816, the land was still in Mississippi Territory, Chickasaw Lands. This 169 acres would turn into Lauderdale County, Alabama in 1818
