Born in 1754 at Ireland. He was a Lieutenant in the 13th Regiment of the Pennsylvania Line in the company of Captain James Moore, Colonel Walter Stewart's regiment and as a Sergeant in Captain Albright’s Company of Pennsylvania Rifle Regiment.  He married (1) __, (2) Margaret Lauderdale (1777-1855): children: Margery, Elizabeth, Jane, John, and David Archibald.  He received a Revolutionary War pension for his service at *W4970 in 1826.  He died June 15, 1834, and was buried at Stevenson Cemetery, also known as Massies Creek Cemetery, Massies Creek Scotch Associate Graveyard and Old Massies Creek Cemetery, Section N-grave 12, Jones Road, Wilberforce, Greene County, Ohio, 45385.  References: Robinson's History of Greene County, Ohio.   28th-35th Annual Reports, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).  Senate documents (United States Congress, Senate).
